How to see Lofoten in the blue season

Short days, long light and almost nobody on the roads. Why February might be the best month for the islands.

In February the sun barely clears the peaks, and for hours the whole archipelago turns blue.

It is cold, but the roads are quiet, the cabins are warm, and on a clear night the northern lights come out over Reine.

Plan for flexibility: ferries and flights can move with the weather, which is exactly why we keep a day free in every Lofoten itinerary.
